Real Beer, No Gimmicks
As we transitioned from contract brewing to our own brewery, a couple of guys asked us to sit down for a pint and chat about an idea they had for a beer subscription service. Little did we know, we were at a relatively similar starting point in our journeys that would run parallel through several years.
As DVB has grown, so has Beer Hug and though we have different roles in this industry, we share a common goal of providing the best damn beers for your money and expanding people’s minds to support local ingenuity and craft!
Introducing Bear Hug, brewed specifically for our mates at Beer Hug. While sometimes we go off the deep end pushing the recipe boundaries, we feel it’s important to pause and remember how lucky we are to live in such an amazing place with such amazing people and have such amazing ingredients. This beer is a nod to Aotearoa and the damn fine hops we have access to. Cheers to many more years to come!

- Flavours Kohatu, Motueka, and Cascade are the main focus here, bringing Mojito, grapefruit, tropical fruits and pine to the party. With such a hop bomb, a solid base of pilsner malt beefed up with a bit of wheat help it to land with balance on the palate.
